Neither of us have written anything in a long time. I personally don't think to (or really care to) stop every day and find something to add to my journal entry. Kristy on the other hand wanted me to set this up because "I'll use it if you make one!" Tonight her excuse was that I'm not doing it either - so here I am.

This week Taylor started grabbing things. She managed to swipe a pen out of my shirt pocket after worship on Sunday. I thought it was an accident but she has successfully nabbed teething rings and rattles in her crib all week. It's exciting... and it's not all at the same time. Now we have to start really baby-proofing everything. I'm just glad I'm not the one that wears earrings.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Hospital with a sense of humor...

Ok, either somebody wasn't thinking at ALL when they set this up... or somebody down at the West Penn hospital has a good sense of humor.

This evening Kristy and I went down to tour the hospital she will be giving birth at (unless we're stuck in traffic a very loooong time). We were part of a group tour, along with 8 or 9 other couples. The tour began with a presentation in a conference room including a lot of information and some photo slides of all the areas of the hospital we would eventually see. They said they always show the slides because if the rooms are full of birthing mothers they are unable to give the full tour. We ended up being able to take the full tour.

As we rounded the corner following the directions we were given to the conference room where it would all begin, we were greeted by this sign, at which point I became confused as to whether I should start laughing, or run for cover. Yes, I was indeed about to sit, with almost a dozen pregnant women, in a room named "The Burstin Room". That's... just... not... right!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

We were required to get a note from the doctor indicating Kristy is indeed pregnant, so we can start applying for some of the health and financial benefits available. I thought the "note" came out rather funny. Best part, she crossed out indicating "no refills".

I am now officially certified. (yeah yeah, keep the "lunatic" cracks to yourself). I'm excited, although these pieces of paper don't mean much, I'm glad to have completed the work. I passed my test with a 98% score which I'm proud of, I've not earned that high of a score on many things. Below are my certificates, one from the school I studied under, one from the national board recognizing my training/test score, one from the Stage Show training session I took at last year's convention, and there should be one more for the Stage Safety course I took, completed, and passed, but the certificate never came in the mail. I might just make my own for sake of display.

We got to hear the heartbeat again and it was quite a bit louder this time. There should be a link in here to click and listen to it.

Yesterday afternoon when I let Rusty out to go to the bathroom, he decided to go exploring. Normally he does not leave the yard, and the couple of times he has, he didn't make it very far before stopping to play with kids or other dogs and was very easy to find. This time, no such luck. When we went to bring him in, he was gone. We looked around town (several times), waited by the phone since our number is on his tag, reported him missing at the humane society, hung fliers around the neighborhood, and even called the local vet in case someone brings him by injured and for some reason doesn't have his tag on anymore. Hopefully he is still around somewhere, and ok. While I haven't had very many dogs to compare, he was by far the best dog I ever had. Well tempered, fun, trained him to do several cool tricks, loyal (although slightly dumb at times) and if I can make up a word that Kristy would probably use: "cuddle-rific".

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
