Although the pendulum is still telling us it will be a boy, we must allow for it to be wrong. We have long lists of girls names that we want to wade through and pick a winner from, and decided to go ahead and do it tonight.

that had worked so well before to guide us through the process. It's kinda fun, and of course we know if we don't like the outcome we can toss it and start over.

This one was worse... we had way more potential names for girls than we had for boys. The process began, and points were tallied. Interestingly enough our votes at the end were at complete odds against each other. The system, of course, came shining through choosing the name where each of us were required to concede the least to balance out, but the name it chose came out to be Rachel. A pretty name, and one that each of us liked enough to make it through the system... but it was pretty low for both of us... everything else were just polar opposites from one another.

We didn't really want to go with the system on this one. Not because it was any fault of the system, but because we were both so ho-hum about half the names the other person liked, we just kind of ranked them randomly below the top couple of names we each were really gunning for. My most favorite were Kristy's absolutely least favorite, and vice versa... so we backed up to the previous step in the system which had 10 names each denoting our favorite top 5. There were about 5 of them one or the other of us absolutely did not want. I somewhat quickly decided to concede to her #1 choice, because if I couldn't have my #1 or #2, there wasn't a lot of difference to me in the rest of them. ((Also, I'm putting my faith in the pendulum that it will be a boy and the girls name is going to be a non-issue )

Taylor is her #1 pick and my approved pick if our baby is a girl. Because I was kind enough to give in to her #1 choice, she has granted me FULL deciding power in our little girls middle name. I haven't picked a middle name yet... this may be one of the only times I get full deciding power in ANYTHING, so I'm going to cherish this power while I have it.

Taylor, it's a pretty name.
