I hope it's a boy. I mostly don't care, as long as it's healthy, but if I picked boy or girl to hope for, it would be a boy. Actually, mostly I just am excited about the pendulum being right, and I hope it turns out to be what the pendulum says.

Anyway, we've been tossing name ideas at each other

Follow up:

, and most of them (from both directions) were being deflected off like mere ray gun blasts against the shields of the death star. Tonight after church we decided to sit down and process through them. (We'd each been making a personal likes lists for a few weeks.)

The geek in me peeked out a bit, and I developed a point system to try and fairly coordinate the name we liked best. This was of course done in fun, knowing that the system might fail miserably and we just go back to good old-fashioned arguing over it.

Without going into all the details, points were awarded, and deducted by each of us, without the other person seeing along the way to potentially be swayed one way or the other, and ultimately the name that made it through the system with the highest shared value was... (drumroll)...

Collin Alexander.

Turns out, we both really liked the name and felt no need to abandon the system, so if the pendulum is correct, then our little boy will be named Collin Alexander.

on a side note, i am toying with the idea of building a baby-name voting web site for other expecting parents to use (for fun of course).
